Libyan Desert Glass is a beautiful and rare glass only found in one location in the world; areas in the eastern Sahara, in the deserts of eastern Libya and western Egypt. Although the exact origin of the glass is uncertain, it is known to have been formed approximately 29 million years from a meteorite impact. For decades geologists have tried to determine the specifics of formation, and ideas on how the glass formed have included melting during meteorite impact and melting caused by an airburst from an asteroid high in the Earth's atmosphere. The glass is nearly all silica which means temperatures would have to have been above 1,600 degrees C in order to form.
This unique and special crystal has very empowering energies, helping to boost self-confidence, self-esteem, and promotes inner-strength.
